Subtitle translator

Upload or paste SRT or VTT subtitles, choose the target language and translate. Keep the timing; download a translated or bilingual file.

Translate subtitles

Your subtitles, in another language

This subtitle translator works with the timed text you already have. Import an SRT or VTT file, or paste its full contents. Choose a common target language or enter another language. The original cue times are preserved in the translated subtitle file.

Translated or bilingual files
Download the target-language subtitles for a new audience, or keep each original line beside its translation in a bilingual SRT or VTT. TXT is available when you only need the words. All formats use the same completed translation.
Unlimited translations with a time pack
Buy either time pack once to unlock unlimited subtitle translations on your account. Translation does not consume your transcription minutes and does not depend on your remaining balance. File, subtitle-length and simultaneous-task limits still apply.

How to use the subtitle translator

  1. Import your timed subtitles

Choose an SRT or VTT file, or paste the complete subtitle text including timestamps. Plain text without timing is not a subtitle file.

  2. Choose a target language

Pick a common language from the list, or enter another language. Sign in with an account that has successfully purchased a time pack.

  3. Translate and download

Start the translation, read the result and download translated or bilingual SRT, VTT or TXT. The original video and its audio are not changed.

Before you start

Does the SRT translator keep my timestamps?

Yes. The subtitle translator preserves source cue identifiers and timing. It translates the words without changing the original video or audio. Review long translated lines before publishing.

Can I translate SRT files without uploading a video?

Yes. The subtitle translator reads the text and timing in SRT or VTT. If you only have a video, use the video-to-English-subtitles tool to create the original transcript first.

Which language can I translate subtitles into?

Choose the language you want from the list, or use Other language to enter a language name. Automatic translation can need corrections, especially for names, jokes or specialist terms.

Will this produce a translated video?

No. You receive subtitle or text files, not a dubbed or rendered video. The tool does not replace voices, change lip movements or burn subtitles into an MP4.
